New Ingredients for an Errand day

Part One:  Passport Renewal - Downtown Toronto

Photo guidelines are simple: straight to camera, no smiling.
Generic = more or less transparent?

Rush fee $10.

Part Two: Getting hit on by this guy.

"I'm glad to see you're so not...cunty".  Well, thank you.

Part 3: Chinatown - Dundas and Spadina.

Purple cherry blossoms vs. galloping
horses?  Decor vs. Function.  Unisex vs. Swag.  Answer: Horses )

Part Four: Dim Sum.  Mmmm...

Part Five: Migun.
If you live in LA and have ever been to a surrounding city called Monterey Park then you know of the frugal wonders of the $15 foot massage.  In NYC, there is a little piece of heaven on Pell Street just off of Mott.  I think this is what is meant to be their Torontonian counterpart.
No frills or privacy? Check.  $5 Canadian for an hour?  Sweet.

You've got to love Chinatowns.

Yeah...Chicken Fat, you say?

200 meters in an hour and fifteen minutes...a couple phone calls, an unexpected sighting of (seriously, is this a sign?)..., and an emergency rescue to chilled shots of Patron.

Our fearless leader

"It was then that we rose up from the swamp and after two weeks dehydrated and Yonge Street was born..."

My impromtu detour

The sweet escape.

And back on dry land...
Was there a "wedgie" thing or was it still sea worthy we wondered...
Indeed, chicken fat it was.

Fin.

The Beaches of Agnes

I saw this delightful documentary last night at the Royal Theater in Toronto.   I went in not knowing very much about the origins of New Wave cinema but my obsession for a great documentary drew me to it.   Totally captivating and pleasantly narrated by Agnes herself she takes us on a journey into her past: her start as the middle child living on a boat along the French coastline during WWII; her departure to start her life as a photographer for the Theatre National Populaire in Paris; her venture into film making; her lifelong love affair with film maker Jacques Demy and her first hand recount of her life's passions and accomplishments on the eve of her 80th birthday.

Just lovely.
